Texas Super Kings and South Africa fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has been ruled out of the remainder of MLC 2024 due to a low-grade left side strain.
The 23-year-old sustained the injury during TSK’s tournament opener against Los Angeles Knight Riders, where he returned figures of 1 for 28 from his four overs.
TSK has not yet announced a replacement for Coetzee and opted to include veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in the XI for the subsequent washed-out game against Washington Freedom.
Coetzee now has about a month to recover fully before his next assignment—a Test tour of the West Indies.
He was recently named in a 16-member squad for the series, with the first Test scheduled in Trinidad from August 7 and the second in Guyana from August 15.
