Faf du Plessis blasted a brilliant 58-ball century to propel the Texas Super Kings to 203/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Their innings started strongly with du Plessis and Devon Conway putting on 109 runs for the first wicket in just 10.2 overs.

Although Aaron Hardie claimed Conway’s wicket swiftly, Marcus Stoinis joined du Plessis to maintain momentum, contributing with an aggressive 18-ball 29.

Despite du Plessis’s dismissal in the 19th over, the Super Kings added 60 runs in the final 30 balls, achieving the season’s first 200-plus total.

Throughout his innings, du Plessis dominated, hitting 12 fours and five sixes, particularly targeting Marco Jansen during the Power Play and death overs.

In response, Washington Freedom’s Travis Head and Steve Smith started the chase aggressively, racing to 62/0 in just four overs.

They signaled their intent early, especially in the second over bowled by Naveen ul Haq, where they smashed 17 runs.

Smith took charge initially, while Head survived a dropped catch by Dwayne Bravo at mid-on and then punished the bowling attack, including two fours and two sixes off Aaron Hardie in the fourth over.

However, rain intervened after just one delivery in the fifth over, which was a no-ball, forcing the players off the field with no further play possible.

As a result, both teams shared a point each due to the abandoned match.
