Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer have been promoted to full contracts as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the updated England Women’s central contracts.

Among the 17 players awarded full contracts, seven received two-year contracts, including Heather Knight, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

The remaining 10 players, including Tammy Beaumont, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Gaur, and Filer, have been given one-year contracts.

Additionally, the ECB has awarded three development contracts to Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Issy Wong, and Bess Heath.

Clare Connor, Managing Director of England Women’s Cricket, commented: “As always, we’ve awarded central contracts to players who we believe will play a significant role for England in the foreseeable future.

We are thrilled that Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer have earned full contracts after being part of our group over the past year.

Ryana MacDonald-Gay has had an outstanding year, and the development contract provides her with the opportunity to continue pushing for selection.

We look forward to working with all three players on development contracts and collaborating with their Counties to support their progress.

“We face a busy and important period of cricket ahead, and we believe this group has the skills to succeed in all formats and conditions.

This will be crucial as we prepare for a two-year period that includes the Women’s Ashes in early 2025, several bilateral series, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India, and a home ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026.

“This year marks another milestone for England Women, with a significant increase in the value of central contracts following last year’s equalisation of men’s and women’s international match fees.

We continue to work closely with the England Women’s Player Partnership (EWPP) and the PCA, and we are grateful for their ongoing support and constructive challenges in these areas,” Connor added.
