Laura Wolvaardt won five awards, including Women’s Player of the Year, at the CSA Awards ceremony held on Thursday (September 6).

Marco Jansen was named Men’s Player of the Year.

Wolvaardt, who took over as South Africa’s captain this past season, was the leading run-scorer for South Africa Women in ODIs and T20Is during the 2023-24 season.

She also scored her maiden Test hundred against India in June in Chennai.

In addition to the Women’s Player of the Year award, Wolvaardt also received the Women’s T20 International Player of the Year, One-Day International Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, and Fans’ Player of the Year awards.

Jansen was recognized for his outstanding performance in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, where he played a crucial role in South Africa’s semi-final run, taking 17 wickets during the tournament.

Quinton de Kock was named Men’s One-Day International Player of the Year in his final season as a one-day player for South Africa.

He had an impressive World Cup campaign, scoring 594 runs, the most by a South African batter in a single World Cup edition.

Reeza Hendricks was awarded Men’s T20 International Player of the Year, and Keshav Maharaj was voted Men’s Players’ Player of the Year by his peers.

David Bedingham and Eliz-Mari Marx were named International Men’s Newcomer of the Year and International Women’s Newcomer of the Year, respectively.

The Best Delivery by KFC award went to Marizanne Kapp for her delivery that bowled out Beth Mooney with an inswinger.

The Makhaya Ntini Power of Cricket Award was presented to Masabata Klaas, who made a remarkable return to cricket after a three-year hiatus due to motherhood, and has been mentoring younger players.
