Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud resigns as Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board following political changes within the board.

Khaled Mahmud has been resigned as the BCB director

Khaled Mahmud has served three terms as the Director of Cricket for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud resigned from his position as Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday, September 11.

A top board official confirmed the development to Cricpulse.

Mahmud, who was elected in 2013 after defeating Gazi Ashraf Hossain, served three terms as BCB director.

However, he stepped down before completing his current term, largely due to political changes in the country that have affected the board’s operations following the resignation of former BCB president Nazmul Hassan.

During his tenure, Mahmud held the position of game development chairman, overseeing Bangladesh’s success at the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

He also served as interim head coach and team manager for the Bangladesh national cricket team on various occasions.

In addition to Mahmud and Nazmul Hassan, several other BCB directors, including Jalal Yunus, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, and Naimur Rahman, have also resigned from their posts.
