Gujarat Titans have appointed former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel as their new assistant and batting coach ahead of IPL 2025.
‘With a distinguished 17-year career as a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Parthiv brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team,’ the Ahmedabad-based franchise said in an official statement.
Parthiv, who has previously worked as a scout for Mumbai Indians and a batting coach for Mumbai Emirates, played for several IPL franchises during his career.
After being first picked by Chennai Super Kings and initially viewed as a pure batter, he went on to be part of Mumbai Indians’ title-winning squad and later represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in his final IPL stint in 2018.
‘As the Titans prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League season, Parthiv’s expertise in batting techniques and strategies will be invaluable in enhancing the skills of the players.
Known for his sharp cricketing acumen and ability to mentor young talent, Parthiv will be a key addition to the coaching staff, contributing to player development and overall performance.’
In his 17-year international career, Parthiv featured in 25 Tests, 38 ODIs, and a couple of T20Is for India.
