The IPL 2025 Player Auction will be held overseas for the second consecutive year, with Jeddah in Saudi Arabia selected as the venue for the event, scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25.
The BCCI confirmed both the dates and location, alongside the announcement that 1,574 players have registered for the auction.
Out of the registered players, 1,165 are Indian, while 409 are overseas players, including 30 from Associate nations.
South Africa and Australia top the list, with 91 and 76 players, respectively.
The mega auction will coincide with the opening Test of India’s tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The Perth Test is set to begin on November 22, meaning the auction will overlap with Days 3 and 4 of the match.
Following the retentions confirmed on October 31, a total of 204 slots—70 for overseas players—are available for the ten franchises to fill during the auction, with each team allowed a maximum of 25 players in their squad.
Punjab Kings, having retained only two uncapped players, will enter the auction with the largest purse (₹110.5 crore), while Rajasthan Royals, after retaining six players (five of whom are capped), will have the smallest purse at ₹41 crore.
