4th T20I
India have extended their lead to 4-0 following yet another clinical performance.
India scored 122/6 in 14 overs, where as Bangladesh scored 68/7 in 14 overs.
So, finally India beat Bangladesh by 56 runs (DLS method).
India demonstrated their prowess once again in a rain-affected clash against Bangladesh, clinching a 56-run victory in Sylhet on Monday (May 6) to stretch their lead to 4-0 in the five-match T20I series.
India managed to post 122/6 in a game truncated to 14 overs due to rain.
Bangladesh, set a revised target of 125 according to the DLS method, could only muster 68/7, succumbing to yet another defeat in the series.
The game saw the debut of 14-year-old Habiba Islam Pinky for Bangladesh, although she failed to make a significant impact, conceding 20 runs off her two overs without claiming a wicket.
Meanwhile, India introduced the 33-year-old Asha Sobhana into international cricket, and she impressed with figures of 2-18 from her three overs.
Despite Dilara Akter’s early boundary-hitting efforts, India tightened their grip, allowing only 21 runs in the power play (first four overs) and claiming the wicket of Murshida Khatun through Deepti Sharma.
India continued to restrict Bangladesh’s scoring options, with Akter and Rubya Haider struggling to accelerate, resulting in an increased asking rate for Bangladesh, who required 89 runs off seven overs.
The pressure mounted on Bangladesh as India took quick wickets, with Deepti dismissing Akter and Sobhana accounting for Nigar Sultana, while Rubya Haider fell victim to a run-out.
The procession of wickets continued, with Radha Yadav and Sobhana claiming one wicket each, reducing Bangladesh to 47/6 in the 11th over.
Bangladesh could only add 21 more runs, losing one more wicket, as the vast gap in quality between the two teams was evident once again.
Earlier, India suffered an early setback when Shafali Verma departed in the second over, attempting to take on Ritu Moni but falling short.
However, Dayalan Hemalatha provided a positive start with a quick 22, including two fours and two sixes, before falling leg-before to Marufa Akter.
Rain interrupted play with Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur at the crease.
After the resumption, India focused on aggressive batting, losing a few wickets but still managing enough cameos to propel them beyond 120 runs, which ultimately proved to be more than enough for victory.
