Australia scored 445 (1st Innings) & 89/7 dec. (2nd Innings), where as India scored 260 (1st Innings) & 8/0 (2nd Innings).

So, finally the match is drawn.

Australia and India will head into the Boxing Day Test level at 1-1 after the third Test in Brisbane ended in a draw, with bad weather reducing play on the fifth day to just 24.1 overs.

The match was officially called after the Tea break, which was moved forward due to poor light and impending rain.

India were 8 for 0 in their chase of 275 runs in approximately 54 overs.

The Gabba Test saw only 216.1 overs of play, a significant reduction from the usual amount by this stage.

The match was plagued by weather interruptions from the start, with only 13.2 overs on Day 1 and 33.1 overs on Day 3.

Despite the interruptions, Australia managed to take control early, posting 445 in their first innings and reducing India to 74 for 5 in their response.

However, the weather worked in India’s favor, alongside Australia’s struggles with just two frontline fast bowlers available after Josh Hazlewood suffered a calf strain.

Key half-centuries from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, and a crucial 47-run partnership between Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah helped India avoid the follow-on on Day 4.

Australia still pushed for a win despite the setbacks, but their efforts were consistently thwarted by the weather.

In a frenetic post-lunch session on the final day, with only four overs bowled in the morning, Australia’s batters attacked the bowling, briefly giving India a chance at an unlikely victory.

After Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Usman Khawaja for the fourth time in the series, India quickly reduced Australia to 33 for 5, with Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj picking up key wickets.

Travis Head and Alex Carey put on a rapid 27-run partnership from just 22 balls, before Pat Cummins’ explosive 10-ball 22, including two sixes and two fours, helped push the score further.

Australia declared at 89/7, but India’s openers comfortably survived 2.1 overs before bad light ended play early.
