Day-3 Morning Session Highlights:

Top-order collapse has put the India team in a precarious position

Kohli was dismissed after edging the ball once again.

At The Lunch of Day-3:

India scored 22/3 (1st Innings), where as Australia scored 445 (1st Innings).

So, finally India trail by 423 runs.

Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood put India on the back foot on the third morning of the Brisbane Test, as Australia extended their total to 445.

The session, interrupted by frequent drizzle, saw India reduced to 22 for 3, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli departing cheaply.

A third rain delay postponed the start of India’s first innings, and Starc wasted no time in dismissing Jaiswal with his second delivery.

The young left-hander flicked a full ball straight to the fielder positioned in front of square.

Starc then sent Gill back to the pavilion after the opener misjudged his drive, with Mitchell Marsh taking an outstanding catch at gully.

Kohli’s brief stay was marked by close calls, as he was beaten on the drive and hurried by a short ball.

His 16-ball innings ended in familiar fashion when he chased a Hazlewood delivery wide outside off stump and edged it to the keeper.

Another rain delay ended the session prematurely, leaving India with a steep challenge ahead to save the Test, with little time left to make progress.

Earlier, Australia added 40 runs to their overnight score of 405 in just over an hour before India wrapped up the last three wickets.

A five-minute rain delay briefly halted play, but Alex Carey reached a quick-fire half-century with a boundary off Ravindra Jadeja.

Starc contributed with a six and a four before being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah, who claimed his sixth wicket of the innings and reached 50 Test wickets in Australia, joining Kapil Dev as the only Indian to achieve this feat.

The following 10 overs, interrupted by another 14-minute rain delay, saw Australia add just 22 runs, content to build their total.

India spread their field to manage Bumrah’s workload, taking him off after a three-over spell.

Eventually, Mohammed Siraj breached Nathan Lyon’s defences with a full delivery, and Akash Deep picked up Carey’s wicket with a short ball, as he was caught at deep mid-wicket for 70, marking the end of a laborious 29.5 overs for India’s bowlers.
