3rd Test
Day-1 Highlights:
Rain has interrupted the play on the opening day in Brisbane test

At The Stumps of Day-1:
Australia scored 28/0 (1st Innings) vs India.
Only 13.2 overs were possible on a rain-affected opening day of the Brisbane Test, but Australia’s openers, Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, emerged unscathed from the brief period of play after Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first.
India won their third consecutive toss in the series, but under overcast conditions, they chose to bowl after making two changes to the playing XI from Adelaide.
Akash Deep, one of the new inclusions (along with Ravindra Jadeja), had to wait for his chance to bowl as senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj searched for the right lines and lengths on the grass-covered Gabba pitch.
Surprisingly, there was little swing or seam movement early on, and Khawaja, in particular, looked comfortable dispatching deliveries that were too short or too straight.
Although Bumrah beat the left-hander a few times, only one of the first 33 balls bowled by India before the first rain break was projected to hit the stumps.
Interestingly, Bumrah bowled just three deliveries to McSweeney, a batsman he’s dismissed three times in the series, during his six-over spell.
Deep came on as first change after the rain delay and made a lively start, bowling fuller and finding some swing.
However, just as India seemed to be finding their rhythm, another torrential downpour forced the players off the field.
The Lunch break was taken earlier than the revised schedule, and the second session was completely washed out.
At 4:15 PM local time, the day was officially called off.
Play is set to resume at 9:50 AM local time, with a minimum of 98 overs scheduled for each of the remaining four days, though all have varying amounts of rain in the forecast.
