Day-2 Afternoon Session Highlights:

KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal has increased the India’s lead to 130 runs

Jaiswal and Rahul extended India’s lead to 130.

At The Tea of Day-2:

India scored 150 (1st Innings) & 84/0 (2nd Innings), where as Australia scored 104 (1st Innings).

So, finally India lead by 130 runs.

KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal strengthened India’s position by pushing the lead past 100 runs at Tea on Day 2, following a strong bowling performance by India in the first two sessions in Perth.

Australia struggled to replicate the potency of their first-morning attack, as neither of their bowlers could break the opening partnership.

The conditions favored India as the seam movement for the Australian bowlers was significantly reduced in the second innings.

Rahul started cautiously, playing close to his body and avoiding edges, even when the pacers managed to get the ball to move.

When they did induce nicks, the ball fell well short of the slips, as Rahul played with soft hands.

Jaiswal, too, showed discipline, not chasing deliveries outside the off-stump.

The pair gradually took control, seizing opportunities against Pat Cummins, pulling and flicking him for quick runs, while also running well between the wickets to maintain a healthy scoring rate.

Australia’s search for a breakthrough proved fruitless, even with a brief experiment of medium pace from Marnus Labuschagne just before Tea.

This solid batting performance followed Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket haul, which included the key dismissal of Alex Carey, who had come into the series in excellent form in the Sheffield Shield.

Harshit Rana supported well from the other end, engaging in some friendly banter with Mitchell Starc, and bouncing out Nathan Lyon.

India had earlier made inroads into the Australian lineup, dismissing them for 104 to take a first-innings lead of 46 runs.

By the end of the second session, India’s lead had grown to 130.
