West Indies scored 118/6 in 20 overs, where as South Africa scored 119/0 in 17.5 overs.

So, finally South Africa beat West Indies by 10 wickets.

Nonkululeko Mlaba delivered a career-best performance, taking 4 for 29, while Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits notched unbeaten half-centuries as South Africa cruised to a commanding 10-wicket victory over West Indies at the Dubai International Stadium.

After electing to field, South Africa’s bowlers, led by Mlaba, restricted West Indies to a below-par total of 118, which their openers chased down with 13 balls remaining.

Mlaba’s standout bowling display began when she was introduced in the fourth over, claiming her first wicket with her fourth delivery, a slider that beat Qiana Joseph’s drive.

Alongside Mlaba, Marizanne Kapp delivered key blows, removing West Indies captain Hayley Matthews after setting her up with a series of deliveries outside off-stump, eventually drawing the edge.

Kapp then struck again, dismissing the returning Deandra Dottin, who started brightly but fell driving to cover, where Wolvaardt took a simple catch.

Reduced to 32 for 3 after seven overs, West Indies turned to Stafanie Taylor and Shemaine Campbelle for stability.

The pair mounted a mini-recovery, including a 14-run over off Annerie Dercksen.

But Mlaba once again triggered a collapse in the 12th over, as she removed Campbelle and Chinelle Henry in consecutive deliveries, with the latter falling to a sharp catch behind by Sinalo Jafta, confirmed after a successful DRS review.

Mlaba claimed her fourth wicket when Aaliyah Alleyne’s mistimed cut shot was caught by Brits, leaving West Indies reeling.

Taylor remained unbeaten on 44, but with wickets falling at regular intervals, West Indies were limited to just 118.

South Africa’s openers, Wolvaardt and Brits, quickly took control of the chase.

Both struck early boundaries and, despite a brief injury scare for Zaida James, who was hit on the chin by a ricocheted drive, South Africa cruised to 43 by the end of the Power Play.

The next four overs saw a more conservative approach as the West Indies’ spinners contained the boundaries, but Wolvaardt and Brits faced little pressure with the asking rate under control.

Both batters reached their fifties off 45 balls each, hitting 13 boundaries between them, and completed the highest partnership for any wicket against West Indies in Women’s T20Is.

The pair remained unbeaten, leading South Africa to a comprehensive victory, reinforcing their credentials with a clinical all-round display.
