Bangladesh Women scored 103/8 in 20 overs, where as West Indies Women scored 104/2 in 12.5 overs.
So, finally West Indies Women won by 8 wickets.
West Indies Women secured their second victory of the ICC Womenâs T20 World Cup 2024 with a dominant performance against Bangladesh.
Led by off spinner Karishma Ramharack, who claimed 4 for 17, Bangladesh were restricted to 103, and West Indies chased down the target with eight wickets to spare.
After being put into bat, Bangladesh struggled to find momentum during the Power Play, managing only 33 runs while losing both openers.
West Indies, known for their spin attack, made early inroads, with Ramharack removing Shathi Rani on her first delivery, thanks to a sharp stumping by Shemaine Campbelle.
A few overs later, Dilara Akter was bowled out by Ramharack after exposing her leg stump.
Captain Nigar Sultana and Shobhana Mostary briefly revived Bangladeshâs innings with a 40-run partnership for the third wicket.
Sultana even managed to reverse some pressure, hitting three boundaries in an over from Afy Fletcher.
She was reprieved when a stumping call was deemed a no-ball, but the reprieve was short-lived.
Campbelle stumped Mostary in the next over, giving Ramharack her third wicket.
Fletcher then struck twice in consecutive deliveries, breaking through the middle order, and Ramharack sealed the deal by dismissing Ritu Moni at deep midwicket, taking her fourth wicket.
Sultanaâs 39 ensured Bangladesh crossed the 100-run mark, but she was the last wicket to fall, leaving West Indies with a manageable target.
In the chase, West Indies got off to a blistering start, with Matthews leading the way.
She dealt comfortably with Bangladeshâs spinners, hitting six boundaries in the Power Play.
Stafanie Taylor, despite a niggle, supported at the other end as the pair put together a 52-run opening stand before Matthews was dismissed by pacer Marufa Akter.
Taylor, nursing her injury, retired on 27, leaving the chase well within reach.
Deandra Dottin then finished off the target with a couple of powerful sixes, securing the victory and boosting West Indiesâ net run rate, placing them at the top of Group B for now.
