Australia scored 148/8 in 20 overs, where as New Zealand scored 88 in 19.2 overs.

So, finally Australia beat New Zealand by 60 runs.

Australia secured their second consecutive win in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a dominant 60-run victory over New Zealand, extending their unbeaten streak to 13 straight T20 World Cup wins.

The Australian batting lineup, after a strong start, experienced a mid-innings collapse, losing six wickets for just 29 runs.

Spinner Amelia Kerr, with remarkable figures of 4 for 26, led the charge for New Zealand.

The Sharjah pitch favored the slower bowlers, and Kerr took full advantage.

She dismissed the in-form Ellyse Perry for 30 with a googly, then claimed Grace Harris’ wicket with the next delivery.

Kerr’s efforts were supported by Brooke Halliday, whose off-pace bowling proved tough to get away.

Halliday removed a well-set Phoebe Litchfield and Annabelle Sutherland in the final over, leaving Australia struggling to reach 150, despite a couple of timely boundaries late on.

Australia’s innings began explosively, with Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy giving the team a blistering start in the powerplay.

Healy particularly targeted the spinners, hitting cleanly over the offside.

However, she was undone by a slower delivery from Rosemary Mair just as she seemed to settle in.

Mooney added some quick boundaries during her 45-run stand with Perry, but her innings ended when she miscued a lofted shot, giving Kerr her first wicket.

Perry then took charge, attacking the opposition with a six and a pulled boundary.

Despite a controversial low catch not being given for Litchfield, Kerr soon turned the tide, taking two wickets to halt Australia’s momentum.

Nevertheless, Australia’s score of 148 was more than enough.

Megan Schutt provided the perfect start with the ball, dismissing Georgia Plimmer in her second over, becoming the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20 World Cups.

Suzie Bates and Kerr briefly steadied the ship with a 47-run stand, but pressure built as boundaries became scarce.

Sophie Molineux broke the partnership by removing Bates, and Australia quickly gained control.

Schutt returned to dismiss Kerr, and Georgia Wareham followed up by taking Halliday’s wicket with a reverse sweep.

Sutherland added to New Zealand’s woes, dismissing Maddy Green and Isabella Gaze in quick succession.

The collapse continued, with New Zealand losing five wickets for just six runs, culminating in skipper Sophie Devine’s dismissal.

Schutt sealed the win, finishing with a stellar performance and ensuring Australia’s dominant position atop Group A.
