The Indian team had a three-hour net session in New York’s Nassau County area on Wednesday afternoon, marking their first formal and full-fledged practice since arriving in the city on May 26.
Prior to this, the team had a brief running and conditioning session on Tuesday evening.
All players, except Virat Kohli, attended Wednesday’s session.
Kohli is expected to arrive a little later.
The net session took place at Cantiague Park, located over five miles from Nassau County Stadium, where the team will play three games in the T20 World Cup, as well as a warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1.
Cantiague Park is the official ICC-designated training facility and features six drop-in practice pitches.
The Indian team had access to three pitches, with two used for batting and one for bowling.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill began the batting nets, followed by the rest of the batting lineup.
Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja were among those who batted.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal, having only joined the team on Tuesday after a long flight, were advised to take it easy but were present at Cantiague Park.
They will participate in the next net session scheduled for Friday.
Despite rain in some neighboring areas of New York, the weather at the ground was excellent for cricket.
With pleasant conditions and a temperature around 18 degrees Celsius, the session proceeded smoothly.
The Indian team is staying in Long Island instead of Manhattan to avoid long travel times and traffic congestion.
