Wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath has been included in the Women’s Ashes squad after recovering from injury.
Heath, who missed the recent South Africa tour due to a fractured thumb, has been named in both the T20 and Test squads.
In addition to Heath, England have handed maiden Ashes call-ups to Freya Kemp, Linsey Smith, and Ryanna MacDonald-Gay.
While Kemp and Smith have been selected only for the T20 squads, Heath and MacDonald-Gay continue to rise through the ranks, having recently been awarded development contracts by the ECB.
MacDonald-Gay, who made her limited-overs debut earlier this year, impressed in the recent one-off Test against South Africa, taking a couple of wickets.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Mahika Gaur will travel with the squad as she continues her recovery from the injury that kept her out of the South Africa tour.
The tour will begin with a warm-up match against the Governor General’s XI, followed by three ODIs, three T20Is, and the first-ever D/N Test match at the MCG.
In the last Ashes series in 2023, Australia won the Test, but England claimed victory in the white-ball leg to level the series.
