Gudakesh Motie and Evin Lewis has shined as West Indies has taken 1-0 series lead
England scored 209 in 45.1 overs, where as West Indies scored 157/2 in 25.5 overs.
So, finally West Indies beat England by 8 wickets (DLS method).
A collective bowling effort was followed by a rapid 94 off 69 balls from Evin Lewis, as the West Indies cruised to an 8-wicket victory in the rain-affected first ODI against England in Antigua, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Jayden Seales, Matthew Forde, and Alzarri Joseph each took two wickets, while Gudakesh Motie starred with four wickets as England were bowled out for 209.
The West Indies chased down a revised target of 157 in 35 overs, completing the job in just 25.5 overs.
After a rain delay before the start of the second innings, Lewis got the chase off to a flying start, smashing sixes off John Turner and Jofra Archer, with three maximums coming in the first 10 overs.
Brandon King supported him well, hitting a few boundaries as the West Indies reached 54/0 by the end of the powerplay.
Lewis continued his assault, hitting a total of five sixes as he raced to a 46-ball fifty.
A second rain delay paused play again, but the revised target remained, with the West Indies needing 157 from 35 overs.
Upon resumption, Lewis picked up where he left off, continuing to clear the boundary, including two fours and a six off Adil Rashid in the 17th over, pushing the West Indies past 100.
The opening partnership of 118 came to an end when King was dismissed for 30, caught in the deep while attempting to pull a short ball from Liam Livingstone.
Lewis, having hit 8 sixes, looked set for a century but fell six runs short, caught at long-off off Rashid.
Keacy Carty finished the chase with an unbeaten 19, securing the win for the West Indies.
Earlier, after being asked to bat, England’s top-order got off to promising starts but failed to convert them into big scores.
Seales removed Phil Salt (18) and Will Jacks (19), while Forde took quick wickets, dismissing Jordan Cox (17) and Jacob Bethell (27).
A 72-run partnership between Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran helped England recover, with both players hitting boundaries to accelerate the score.
However, England suffered a dramatic collapse from 165/4 in the 35th over, adding just 44 more runs before being bowled out in 45.1 overs.
Livingstone was dismissed for 48, caught and bowled by Motie, and then Motie removed Dan Mousley and Jamie Overton in successive balls.
He also sent Curran packing for 37, as England slipped to 187/8.
Rashid and Archer helped England past 200, but Joseph wrapped up the tail, picking up the final two wickets.
