Freya Kemp has received her first Test call-up for the tour of South Africa
All-rounder Freya Kemp has earned her maiden Test call-up as England announced their squads for the upcoming multi-format tour of South Africa.
Opening batter Maia Bouchier, a regular in England’s white-ball squads, has been named in the squad for the one-off four-day Test and could make her Test debut.
All-rounder Danielle Gibson, who is recovering from left knee surgery, misses out on the tour, while fast bowler Lauren Filer has been selected for all three formats.
All-rounder Paige Scholfield, who recently made her debut in both T20Is and ODIs in Ireland, has been named in the T20I squad.
The players selected for the tour, with the exception of those currently playing in the WBBL, have been training at Loughborough in preparation.
The tour begins with a three-match T20I series starting on November 24, followed by a three-match ODI series beginning on December 4.
The one-off Test, the first in South Africa since 2002, will take place from December 15-18 in Bloemfontein.
