Ben Stokes and Zak Crawley has been named in the Test squad for the Pakistan tour

Skipper Ben Stokes has been named in England’s 17-man squad for the Pakistan tour in October.
Both Stokes and opener Zak Crawley, who missed the recent Test series against Sri Lanka due to injuries, are still recovering but have been included in the squad.
Dan Lawrence, who replaced Crawley during the Sri Lanka series, has been left out.
Crawley, who hasn’t played a Test since July, “is making significant progress in his recovery to earn selection,” according to the ECB.
Stokes was sidelined from the Sri Lanka series after suffering a hamstring tear during The Hundred earlier this year.

Additionally, the squad includes two uncapped players, Brydon Carse and Jordan Cox, for the Pakistan tour.
Carse, who made his England debut in an ODI in 2021, recently completed a ban for placing bets on cricket matches, with the suspension ending on August 28.
The spin attack has been strengthened with the inclusion of legspinner Rehan Ahmed and veteran Jack Leach, who has been absent since the India tour last year.
Josh Hull, who debuted in the final Test against Sri Lanka, retains his place, while Mark Wood is unavailable.
The squad largely consists of players who contributed to the 2-1 series win against Sri Lanka.
This will be England’s first tour of Pakistan since 2022, when they secured a series victory.
Eight members from that winning squad are set to feature again this time.
