Jacob Bethell has received his first call-up to the England Test squad for the tour of New Zealand
Jacob Bethell has been included in the England Test squad for the upcoming three-match series against New Zealand.
He replaces Jamie Smith, who will miss the tour due to the birth of his first child, as announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday (October 29).
Bethell’s inclusion is the only change from the squad that toured Pakistan earlier this month, where England suffered a 2-1 series defeat.
Additionally, Jordan Cox is set to make his debut for England as the only wicketkeeper named in the squad.
Bethell, a batting all-rounder, made his England debut in the T20I and ODI formats earlier this year against Australia, where he impressed with a quickfire 44 off 24 balls in the second T20I, helping England level the series.
He has accumulated 738 runs in 20 First Class matches for Warwickshire thus far.
