St Kitts and Nevis Patriots scored 110 in 19.1 overs, where as Barbados Royals scored 113-1 in 11.2 overs.
So, finally Barbados Royals beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by nine wickets.
Rahkeem Cornwall (5-16) and Quinton de Kock (59* off 38) delivered standout performances as Barbados Royals cruised to a nine-wicket victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Kensington Oval.
The win solidified the Royals’ position at the top of the table and secured their spot in the CPL 2024 playoffs, while the Patriots edged closer to elimination.
Cornwall’s brilliance in the middle overs triggered a dramatic collapse for the Patriots, who plummeted from 38/2 to 69/8 in just 48 balls.
This followed a promising start by Andre Fletcher (32 off 22), who provided the visitors with momentum during the Power Play with aggressive stroke play.
However, once the Royals slowed the pace, they took control of the game, with Naveen-ul-Haq (3-21) also capitalizing on the Patriots’ struggles.
A resilient 39-run partnership between Joshua Da Silva (25 off 29) and Anrich Nortje (22 off 17) helped the Patriots surpass 100 runs, but their total was far from competitive.
Cornwall’s spell was especially effective, as he lured batters with flighted deliveries and subtle dips, often exploiting his height for extra bounce, which led to mistimed shots and frequent dismissals.
The collapse left the Royals with a straightforward chase, and de Kock once again stepped up with another quickfire half-century.
Unlike the previous match, de Kock attacked early during the Power Play, showcasing his signature cuts and pick-up shots.
He was ably supported by Kadeem Alleyne (25 off 14), who impressed in his brief stay.
Although Wanindu Hasaranga provided a breakthrough by dismissing Alleyne, it was a mere consolation.
Alick Athanaze (22* off 15) then joined de Kock, and the pair comfortably completed the chase, benefiting from wayward bowling and heavy dew, which further diminished the challenge of an already modest target.
