CPL 2024 : Tahir and Motie has guided Guyana Amazon Warriors to their third consecutive victory

Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir claimed three wickets each.

Saint Lucia Kings scored 100 all out in 14.3 overs, where as Guyana Amazon Warriors scored 101/4 in 10 overs.

So, finally Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Saint Lucia Kings by 6 wickets.

Gudakesh Motie (3-16) and Imran Tahir (3-29) delivered match-winning performances, each claiming three wickets, as Guyana Amazon Warriors bowled out Saint Lucia Kings for a paltry 100 to secure a commanding 6-wicket victory.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz once again dazzled with the bat, smashing a rapid 47 off just 19 balls, helping the Warriors chase down the target in just half the allotted overs.

On a challenging Gros Islet pitch, the Kings’ batting lineup struggled for application.

After the early dismissal of skipper Faf du Plessis, Johnson Charles (19 off 13) and Ackeem Auguste briefly steadied the ship with a 20-run partnership.

However, the second half of the powerplay saw more trouble as Auguste was run out by Motie, and Keemo Paul struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Charles and the dangerous Bhanuka Rajapaksa, leaving the Kings floundering at 43/4.

Imran Tahir then joined the fray, removing Roston Chase and David Wiese in quick succession, reducing the Kings to a dismal 49/6.

Matthew Forde fought back with a spirited 31 off 21 balls, contributing to a 45-run partnership, but once Motie dismissed him, the tail offered little resistance.

Tahir and Motie quickly wrapped up the innings.

Chasing just 100, the Warriors got off to a blistering start, with the openers adding 62 runs in 5.1 overs.

Tim Robinson’s entertaining 33 off 20 was cut short, but Gurbaz was even more explosive, smashing seven sixes in his 47-run cameo.

Noor Ahmad (4-0-22-3) was the only bowler to show control for the Kings, but the target was too small to defend.

The Warriors comfortably finished the chase in just 10 overs, marking their third consecutive victory.
