Saint Lucia Kings scored 162/3 in 20 overs, where as Barbados Royals scored 149/8 in 20 overs.

So, finally Saint Lucia Kings beat Barbados Royals by 13 runs.

In the span of 24 hours, St. Lucia Kings have beaten Barbados Royals for the second time, this time in Guyana, to climb to the top of the table with 12 points.

Johnson Charles and Tim Seifert set the foundation for the Kings with a total of 162/3, followed by a disciplined bowling effort that stifled the Royals.

Openers Quinton de Kock and Kadeem Alleyne provided a strong start, but after their departures, the chase lost momentum.

The Royals eventually fell 13 runs short, succumbing to a collective bowling display from the Kings.

Alzarri Joseph, Noor Ahmad, and David Wiese each claimed two wickets.

Asked to bat first, the Kings lost skipper Faf du Plessis during the Power Play, while Charles batted aggressively, particularly targeting Maheesh Theekshana.

He also took on Keshav Maharaj, who had earlier dismissed du Plessis, contributing 30 of the team’s 42 Power Play runs.

Charles and Ackeem Auguste built a partnership, but Rahkeem Cornwall tightened the screws with economical middle overs.

Charles reached his half-century with a six before falling soon after, and the Kings managed just 37 runs between overs 10 and 15.

Auguste retired hurt after a 32-ball 35, but Seifert’s aggressive 45* off 25 balls, featuring 3 fours and 3 sixes, helped the Kings add 60 runs in the final five overs.

In response, the Royals’ openers came out flying, scoring 52 in just the first four overs, setting a strong platform with a required rate just over eight runs per over.

However, the dismissals of both de Kock and Alleyne derailed the chase.

De Kock fell to a clever slower delivery from Joseph in the fifth over, while Alleyne was deceived by a tossed-up offspinner from Mikkel Govia in the ninth.

In between, Kharry Pierre removed Cornwall in the eighth over, and by the halfway mark, the Royals were four down as Noor Ahmad added to their woes by dismissing Rovman Powell.

The Royals’ collapse was such that Noor even bowled a maiden to David Miller in the 14th over.

Miller’s labored 22-ball 21 ended soon after, highlighting the Royals’ struggles.

Wiese and Joseph bowled effectively at the death, leaving the Royals’ lower order with an uphill task.

With 21 runs needed off the final over, Joseph comfortably defended the target, sealing another victory for the Kings.
