Antigua and Barbuda Falcons scored 176/5 in 20 overs, where as Barbados Royals scored 127/3 in 14.3 overs.
So, finally Barbados Royals won by 10 runs (DLS method).
Sam Billings and Justin Greaves’ fifties went in vain as Barbados Royals secured their third consecutive win in a rain-affected match at home on Wednesday.
The Antigua and Barbuda duo combined for a 92-run stand, leading the Royals to a solid 176/5 from their 20 overs.
Quinton de Kock played a brisk knock of 48 in the chase, but persistent rain soon after led to a premature end, with the Royals 10 runs ahead of the DLS par score, earning them the two points.
Put in to bat first, Falcons’ opener Brandon King led the charge in the Powerplay with a boundary-laden 27 off 19 balls, including a reprieve on 17.
He formed a 50-run stand with Greaves.
Both scored 27 off 18 balls before King fell.
Greaves then partnered with Billings to rebuild the innings.
Billings, after a slow start, accelerated once the Falcons reached 100 runs by the 13th over.
He and Greaves added a half-century stand, with Billings attacking Obed McCoy fiercely, hitting four consecutive boundaries, and reaching his fifty with the last of those shots.
Fabian Allen’s final over, the 18th, provided a breakthrough for the Falcons, but some lower-order hitting helped the Royals post a competitive total despite a late flurry of wickets.
Royals faced an early setback when Chris Green dismissed Rakheem Cornwall before they had scored a run.
However, de Kock and Athanaze stabilized the innings, reaching 48/1 in the Powerplay.
Just as the partnership started to pose a threat, a crucial run-out broke the momentum.
By the halfway mark, the Royals were struggling, having just lost Athanaze for 34 off 29 balls.
The 12th over proved dramatic, with Roshon Primus delivering four wides, three no-balls, and a wicket.
Amidst the chaos, de Kock hit a six off a free hit but was dismissed soon after.
David Miller capitalized on the free-hits, and a 13-run 14th over pushed the Royals ahead.
Rain interrupted the play, and although it resumed briefly, further rain halted proceedings again with the Falcons 10 runs behind.
