So, finally Bangladesh lead by 211 runs.

Bangladesh’s pace sensation, Nahid Rana, claimed his maiden five-wicket haul (5-61) in Test cricket, dismantling the West Indies for just 146 and giving the visitors a slim 18-run lead by the end of Day 3 in the second Test.

Thanks to solid contributions from Shadman Islam (46) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (42), Bangladesh reached 193 for 5 at Stumps, extending their lead to 211 and asserting firm control.

It was an action-packed day at Sabina Park, Jamaica, with 14 wickets falling and 269 runs being scored.

Bangladesh stuck with Nahid, who had been testing the West Indies batters on Day 2, and the pacer immediately found lateral movement on the third morning.

He beat Keacy Carty on the outside edge in his first over and later removed West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite, who fended off a short delivery into the gully.

The tourists capitalized on this early breakthrough and pushed further.

Kavem Hodge followed Brathwaite back to the pavilion, nicking a back-of-a-length delivery to the wicketkeeper.

Alick Athanaze then chopped onto his stumps off Taskin Ahmed, while Justin Greaves was bowled by Taijul Islam.

Hasan Mahmud joined the party, trapping the counter-attacking Joshua da Silva LBW, leaving the West Indies reeling at 114 for 6.

Carty, who had held firm, was eventually dismissed for 38, strangled down the legside, ending his 115-ball resistance.

Rana returned to mop up the tail, claiming his fifth and final wicket when he bowled out Kemar Roach.

Apart from the top three, no other West Indies batter managed double digits.

With lateral movement still in play, Jayden Seales dismissed Mahmudul Hasan Joy for a duck.

Shahadat Hossain survived a few close moments, including a dropped catch by Brathwaite, but punished any loose deliveries, hitting Alzarri Joseph for two consecutive boundaries.

Shadman nearly chopped on, but he and Shahadat shared a healthy 70-run partnership as the West Indies bowlers struggled to control the line.

Mehidy took charge, dispatching Shamar Joseph for four boundaries in an over, as Bangladesh capitalized on 29 runs from just nine deliveries.

The pair brought up their 50-run stand in only 29 balls, with 11 boundaries, and continued to score freely until both Shadman and Mehidy fell to Shamar for a series of catches behind the stumps.

Litton Das and Jaker Ali picked up where they left off, finding the boundary with ease before Litton was bowled by a slower delivery from Greaves.

Taijul and Jaker held firm, ensuring no further setbacks as Bangladesh remained firmly in the driver’s seat.
