Day-5 Highlights:
West Indies team has sealed a commanding victory to take a series lead
West Indies scored 450/9d (1st Innings) & 152 (2nd Innings), where as Bangladesh scored 269/9d (1st Innings) & 132 (2nd Innings).
So, finally West Indies beat Bangladesh by 201 runs.
West Indies wasted no time in wrapping up their dominant win over Bangladesh in the opening Test.
After 17 wickets fell on Day 3, the home side were always in control and the result seemed inevitable.
As play resumed on the fourth morning, Jaker Ali struck a boundary in the first over, but Alzarri Joseph made an immediate breakthrough in the following over.
Hasan Mahmud had no choice but to play at a delivery just outside off, and he ended up edging it behind.
Jaker Ali continued to score boundaries at one end, but Joseph dismissed him by trapping him lbw as the ball kept a touch low, breaching the batter’s defense.
Shoriful Islam was then hit on the shoulder by the first ball he faced and carried on for just one more over before deciding to retire hurt, with the result no longer in doubt.
While Bangladesh’s batting was lackluster throughout the match, the win was set up by the West Indies’ formidable first-innings total of 450.
