Fifties from Mominul Haque and Jaker Ali helped Bangladesh avoid the follow-on on Day 3 of the Antigua Test, but the West Indies continued to dominate the game, reducing the visitors to 269 for 9 by Stumps.

Resuming at 40 for 2, the Bangladesh batters got starts, but none could convert them into significant scores, facing persistent pressure from the West Indies bowlers.

The day began with Kemar Roach providing an early breakthrough, dismissing Shahdat Hossain for 18 and reducing Bangladesh to 66 for 3.

Mominul, the other overnight batter, then found support in Litton Das, and the pair fought back.

The experienced duo added 62 runs for the fourth wicket, as the pitch remained good for batting.

Litton brought up the 100-run mark with a cover drive just before Lunch, and Bangladesh kept the West Indies pacers at bay through the morning session, showing signs of a recovery through their senior players.

However, things unraveled quickly after the break.

Jayden Seales struck with his first ball of the session, trapping Mominul LBW for 50.

Mominul had just reached a patient half-century off 115 balls and had burned a team review on a plumb call.

The West Indies pacers continued to create chances, and Shamar Joseph eventually struck, removing Litton for 40, just 10 runs short of a half-century.

With Bangladesh now 165 for 5, Jaker stood firm and saw the team through to Tea without further loss.

After the break, Mehidy Hasan Miraz didn’t last long as Alzarri Joseph joined the wicket-taking party with a short delivery.

Jaker then found a solid partner in Taijul Islam, and the pair added 68 runs for the seventh wicket, Bangladesh’s best partnership of the day.

The pair took Bangladesh past the 200-run mark, just after the second new ball was taken.

But as Taijul began to find boundaries, Alzarri returned to dismiss him for 25.

At the other end, Justin Greaves removed Jaker shortly after he reached his half-century.

Despite late resistance to avoid the follow-on, Greaves claimed his second wicket in the closing minutes, sending Hasan Mahmud back with a slip catch.

Bangladesh ended the day still 181 runs behind, with only one wicket left in hand.
