Bangladesh continued their resurgence after a strong comeback on Day 3 by dismantling Pakistan’s batting on the fourth morning.

The hosts, who began the day at 9/2, lost four more wickets before Mohammad Rizwan anchored them to the Lunch break at 117/6.

Despite scoring 108 runs at a brisk pace of over 4 runs per over in the first session, Pakistan’s four lost wickets handed the momentum to Bangladesh, putting them in control of the Test.

Pakistan’s struggles began late on Day 3, losing two quick wickets.

However, the overnight batters, Saim Ayub and Shan Masood, started Day 4 aggressively, finding boundaries with ease.

Their early dominance was halted by a stunning catch from Nazmul Hossain Shanto at cover, dismissing Ayub and signaling the beginning of Pakistan’s downfall.

Nahid Rana then tore through the batting order with three rapid strikes.

First to fall was the captain, Masood, who chased a length delivery outside off-stump, edging it to ‘keeper Litton Das.

Babar Azam’s lean patch in Tests continued as he was dismissed for just 11, pushing at a back-of-a-length delivery and getting caught by Shadman Islam at first slip.

Bangladesh nearly dismissed Rizwan on the first ball he faced when Rana surprised him with extra bounce, resulting in an edge towards slips, but Islam couldn’t hold on to the catch.

Rana, however, maintained his fiery spell, including a bouncer that struck Rizwan on the helmet, prompting a mandatory concussion check.

Rana then switched to bowling around the wicket to the left-handed Saud Shakeel, who edged behind to Litton, further deepening Pakistan’s woes.

From a precarious 81/6, Rizwan took charge, ensuring no further damage before lunch.

He and Salman Agha batted out the final nine overs of the session, pushing Pakistan’s lead to 129 runs.
