Khurram Shahzad delivered a remarkable seven-over spell, taking 4 for 17 and tearing through Bangladesh’s top and middle order.

His devastating burst saw him claim three wickets in five balls across two overs.

Mir Hamza provided excellent support from the other end, taking 2 for 24.

Despite the early damage, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das managed to stabilize the innings with an unbeaten 49-run partnership, taking Bangladesh to 75 for 6 at lunch.

Hamza and Shahzad extracted movement both ways with the new ball in the first hour.

Hamza nearly dismissed Zakir Hasan twice in one over—a clipped shot just short of square leg and an unreviewed LBW appeal that would have hit the stumps.

Shahzad struck in the following over, dismissing Zakir, who flicked the ball straight to Abrar Ahmed at square leg.

Shahzad continued his dominance, bowling Shadman Islam around his legs and then dismantling skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto with a delivery that angled in, causing Shanto to lose his balance as he attempted a glance.

Hamza then claimed Mominul Haque, who chipped a catch to mid-on, rewarding Hamza for his disciplined bowling.

The hero of the first Test, Mushfiqur Rahim, was dismissed for one, edging a perfect delivery behind to the keeper.

Shahzad completed his spell by trapping Shakib al Hasan LBW as the batter misjudged the line.

Reeling at 26 for 6, Mehidy counterattacked, driving Hamza for two boundaries through the offside, while Litton Das managed a boundary off a tiring Shahzad, who was in the middle of his seventh consecutive over.

Mohammad Ali and Abrar Ahmed were handled comfortably as the pitch eased with the aging ball and the sun baking the surface.

Mehidy has already hit seven boundaries in his 33-run innings so far.
