At The Lunch of Day-4:

Pakistan scored 448/6 decl. (1st Innings), where as Bangladesh scored 389/6 (1st Innings).

Pakistan lead by 59 runs.

Bangladesh advanced at a sluggish pace for most of the opening session on Day 3 as they worked to close in on Pakistan’s first innings score.

In the 25 overs bowled during the session, only 73 runs were added, and Pakistan managed just one wicket as Bangladesh reached 389/6, trailing by 59 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who formed a century partnership with Litton Das and an unbroken 57-run stand with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, reached his 11th Test century.

The session unfolded slowly under hot and humid conditions, with Rahim and Litton Das adopting a cautious approach.

Rahim successfully overturned a leg-before decision using DRS after being given out off Mohammad Ali’s bowling.

Pakistan’s pace attack struggled to make significant breakthroughs, although they did pose occasional challenges.

The introduction of Naseem Shah provided the much-needed breakthrough for the hosts, as the pacer struck in his first over, dismissing Litton for 56 with a cut shot that was caught behind, ending a 114-run partnership.

Rahim was then joined by Mehidy, and together they steadied the innings with a patient partnership.

It wasn’t until the 14th over of the morning that the first boundary was scored, with Mehidy executing a controlled pull shot off Khurram Shahzad.

He added another four in Shahzad’s next over, helping Bangladesh cross the 350-run mark.

Rahim, who had been on 73 off 180 balls without hitting a boundary on Day 4, finally found his rhythm, striking two fours in an over off Khurram Shahzad.

He followed this with a boundary off Shaheen Afridi and two consecutive fours off Saim Ayub, bringing him close to his century.

A couple of runs off Agha Salman allowed the veteran to reach his hundred off 200 balls, celebrating with a roar and a punch in the air.

The seventh-wicket pair extended their stand past 50, remaining unbeaten at Lunch.
