Ashwin and Jadeja has combined for nine wickets as India has thrashed Bangladesh by 280 runs

Ashwin claimed a five-wicket haul in the second innings, adding to his century from earlier in the Chennai Test.

India scored 376 (1st Innings) & 287/4 decl (2nd Innings), where as Bangladesh scored 149 (1st Innings) & 234 all out (2nd Innings).

So, finally India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs.

R Ashwin emerged as the standout performer for India, claiming a six-wicket haul to complement his earlier century in the Chennai Test.

Ravindra Jadeja also made a significant contribution with three wickets, leading India to a commanding 280-run victory over Bangladesh.

The visitors began the fourth morning needing 357 runs to win.

Despite the daunting target, both Najmul Hasan Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan navigated the first hour without incident.

They faced challenges from the angles of Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, but successfully weathered the storm.

Jadeja posed his own threat, effectively utilizing the rough outside the left-handers’ off-stump to keep them on edge.

The uneven turn and bounce also created difficulties for wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who missed a stumping opportunity off Shakib.

The duo attempted to unsettle Jadeja by employing the sweep shot, which yielded some crucial boundaries in a 48-run partnership.

However, it was only a matter of time before a wicket fell, and it came when Ashwin entered the attack, striking in his very first over.

Shakib’s inside edge was caught at short leg, opening the floodgates.

The spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja, operating in tandem, relentlessly tested the batting lineup.

Litton Das was beaten multiple times before nicking one to slip off Jadeja’s bowling.

Mehidy Hasan tried to play aggressively but ended up holing out to long-on, granting Ashwin his 37th Test five-wicket haul, placing him alongside Shane Warne on the all-time list.

He quickly added another wicket when Taskin Ahmed top-edged a slog, hastening the end.

Jadeja wrapped up the innings by dismissing Hasan Mahmud, securing his 299th Test wicket and giving India a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
