Harry Brook has been named captain of England for the upcoming ODI series in Australia

Harry Brook is set to lead England for the first time in his career after being named captain for the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
Brook has been promoted to the role following Jos Buttler’s exclusion from the five-match series due to a calf injury.
Buttler, who was also left out of the T20I squad, is still recovering from the injury sustained earlier.
His absence has paved the way for Liam Livingstone’s return to the ODI setup after initially being overlooked.
Livingstone earned his place back with strong performances in the ongoing T20I series, where he has claimed five wickets and scored a blistering 87 off 47 balls in the second T20I.
Buttler, who hasn’t featured since the T20 World Cup semifinal against India in late July, will now aim for a return during England’s tour of the Caribbean in November.
Brook, who captained England in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, recently served as Ollie Pope’s deputy during the Test series against Sri Lanka in Ben Stokes’ absence.
In addition, the ECB confirmed that young pacer Josh Hull, who made his international debut in the final Test against Sri Lanka, has been withdrawn from the squad after suffering a quad injury.
The ODI series is set to begin on September 19 at Trent Bridge.
