Ben Curran is one of seven uncapped players named in the squad for the Afghanistan Test

Zimbabwe’s national selectors have named a youthful Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Afghanistan at home, featuring seven uncapped players.
Among them is left-handed opener Ben Curran, the son of former cricketer Kevin Curran and sibling to England internationals Tom and Sam Curran.
In addition to Curran, the other newcomers to Test cricket include Johnnathan Campbell, son of former cricketer Alastair Campbell, along with Trevor Gwandu, Takudzwa Chataira, Newman Nyamhuri, Nyasha Mayavo, and Tadiwanashe Marumani.
The Afghanistan series will mark Zimbabwe’s first Boxing Day Test match at home since 1996 and their first-ever New Year Test.
The core of the squad remains familiar, with Craig Ervine continuing as captain.
Key players such as Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava are all expected to play significant roles in the series.
